For once I thought this was a thread that was keeping up the nice vibes.
But let me comment to your reply:

What I've seen in the DR is a lot of, beautifully minded uneducated people, who never had a fair chance of getting real education, and thus never a fair chance to make something beautiful of their live. Somehow they manage being happy most of the time.
But more important to me is the fact that, I personally like their responses to my ignorant questions a lot more, than the responses of an educated gringo.
And I should know better because I'm one of those educated gringo's myself and don't like the way I respond to you as well.:disappoin

And I'm very sorry you've been had by a whole uneducated family.

@Moderator:
Feel free to close this thread as my original question is answered fine.
From now on it will probably get fishy.

Saludos

Yep it is...have seen it with my own eyes unfortunately.

BTW Prima can also mean premium. For instance it is used in "Prima del Dolar" meaning the difference between the official USD exchange rate and the one given in the black market. Confused yet?

Odd that I never have, go figure but then again I rarely hang out with gringos and much less visit where there are lots of them. :)

Prima can also mean raw as in material prima.

It could be possible that the OP was thinking of the word primero. He/she did say they say primo/prima when talking about the first of anything. first = primero

Me? Even less than you buddy...not a lot of them in my little Cotui town, but have witnessed a couple of instances of Dominican girls with their foreign boyfriends and their Dominican boyfriend/husband by their side as well. The poor guys thinking that's just the girl's cousin they're buying drinks for.

Sorry bout that.
I've had the same problem when one particular friend was visiting my home on my birthday.
Told him he was special and he was the only one allowed to keep his shoes on.
Get my drift ??

No dude we just want to know what school you're going to learn English...cause they're doing an awesome job. No misspellings or transposed words and even shortcuts like "bout"...

Well I can tell you this.
Any school in the world wouldn't learn you the word "dude":smoke:

For the curious persons who don't need a shrink:sleep:
Look up in google translate:
From: Dutch to English, type in the dutch word "Neef"

Some of you might notice what's written a little "abago".
But then again:
It's quite possible that some of you might find out they should wear socks in their shoes when it's hot.:bandit:

I'm getting a little feaked out, for the matter that I can't seem to find out how to do the wink.
Please enlighten me how, because it might be appropriate in some replies.
I sincerely wouldn't want to upset anyone.

Pfff .. and lemembel Blamazzzz....no :smoke:
