State prosecutors requested 18 months preventive custody for those accused in the Operation Coral in the hearing on 5 May 2021. These are former head of the Security Corps of former President Danilo Medina, Major General Adan Caceres, lawyer-pastor Rossy Guzman and her son Tanner Flete Guzman, and police colonel Rafael Núñez de Aza and Police mayor Raul Alejandro Giron Jimenez. Judge Kenya Romero will hear the arguments of the defense on 6 May 2021. The accused are held responsible for profiteering using their high positions in government. The prosecutors accuse Cáceres and Núñez of being the heads of a major corruption network.
