Public School teachers accept to continue teaching through 21 December

The National Education Council reached a compromise with the Public School Teachers Association (ADP) for public schools to close on 21 December and not on 23 December as requested by Education Minister Angel Hernandez. The ADP had instructed its teachers that their last day at the public schools would be 16 December 2022.

Education Minister Hernandez had argued the 23 December date was necessary because public schools had started several days after the agreed dates. While most private schools started in mid-August, the public schools started in mid to late September. Several schools started on 23 September instead of 19 September due to the advent of Hurricane Fiona.

Their announcement is a little too late for some including me. First we are told Dec 16 then Dec 23 and now Dec 21. When I heard Dec 16 I made plans for my kid for the holidays so I guess she will miss those 3 days of "study"
