puerta plata weather

I am planning to travle to Puerta Plata, DR in late December-early January. Can anyone please tell me if the weather is good at this time? I am not sure when there hurricane or winter season is. If it isn't good what months are good to travel there? THANKS

The weather will be over 65F. probably about 75F. and guaranteed no snow..that means it is good....RIGHT!.
I have been led to believe that the north coast except for Samana area has not had a hurricane in approx 90 years unlike the south coast which gets them every few years. I do know there has been nothing in the last 20 years while I have been here.

Well for the amount of money you may spend coming...save your money as the weather will be warm but not hot. Well it did rain quite a bit in December as well as January this past year
