People we are visiting from Jarabacoa own three businesses in San Juan and have lived there for 22 years. I dont think they came by Yola.That's because we only hear about the yolas that don't make it

I know Bob. I should have known better. I'm sure there are very few Dominicans who got there by Yola.People we are visiting from Jarabacoa own three businesses in San Juan and have lived there for 22 years. I dont think they came by Yola.
Every time you express an opinion, you only have facts to support your position, and now live video., yet some continue to argue.Easter Sunday @ Cortecito and Hard Rock;

I can't see the video. What does it show? Empty streets?Every time you express an opinion, you only have facts to support your position, and now live video., yet some continue to argue.
It shows one of the pools at HardRock, and the beach in front of it. My friend told me it is a very nice hotel and beach. At times there were a few dozen people there, but before noon and now; less than 10. Not indicative of a 90% occupancy rate.I can't see the video. What does it show? Empty streets?

Perhaps they could hire tourists to shoot the video to appear full!It shows one of the pools at HardRock, and the beach in front of it. My friend told me it is a very nice hotel and beach. Not just 90%......................we were told FULL.It shows one of the pools at HardRock, and the beach in front of it. My friend told me it is a very nice hotel and beach. At times there were a few dozen people there, but before noon and now; less than 10. Not indicative of a 90% occupancy rate.
Schoolmarm..lack of understanding?Arent you just a ball of happiness.
Someone’s nose is growing…..It’s the lying…tired of the continuous lying. Time share salesperson like.Not just 90%......................we were told FULL.
And after emailing a hotel contact and verifying occupancy as not FULL and adding what PC Mike said in post #23, coupled with the Webcams (Fake Live webcams in the minds of some) the only thing FULL of something are those who continue to post wishful tourist pieces and apparently believe them.
To be sure, PC enjoyed a good week of tourists......................hardly record breaking but good.
So now tomorrow the Tourism ministry will put out another wishful set of statistics..............and the gullible will rinse and repeat.
This is a time honored tradition, post wishful numbers and hope.
It was done in mid 2021 when the Tourism ministry proclaimed hotel occupancy exceeded pre-pandemic levels and they repeated the claim (posted on DR1) several times.........................yet the DR ended up with 1.5 million tourists less than the pre-pandemic year of 2019. To break that down, they were short 4,000+ tourists each and every day for 365 days.
Or the claim that 90+% of the people in Altagracia had been vaccinated (one poster claimed it was Bavaro/Altagracia)...............when in fact 25% of the population of either was ineligible to even be vaccinated due to age.
All that having been said, `Tourism is coming back...........just not at the pace some would like you to believe.
While the official March tourism numbers have not yet been posted at Banco Central, what has been posted is that neither January or February 2022 exceeded pre-pandemic levels set in 2019.
