I am looking for an apartment ...at least two bedroom...something for vacation.....I will be going back in august for two weeks and would like to have some places lined up before I return .I thought that might save time and give a better selection

I have been going to the Dominican republic for a number of years ...had thought about a villa...but I am not ready to retire completely and I think that an apartment would be more feasible when I am not living fulltime in the d.r.

The first thing to keep in mind is there is no such thing as a licensed realtor, or real estate board of any type here. Pretty much any one can call themselves a real estate agent. The big companies out of north america and Europe are no exception.
You are on your own if something goes wrong. There are some good ones. Its your job to find them.

Invest the money you would spend to buy a condo or apt.
Use the income to pay the rent on same.
You will have your principal safe, and can leave whenever you want.
You can rent a better house here than you can afford to buy.
Buy a house with noisy neighbors and see how happy THAT makes you!!!!!!!!!!!!

AND being an absentee home/condo owner is even worse!!!!!
