Im interested in moving to santo domingo, im interested in knowing what do i need to do to prepare myself for the change, what steps should be taken here in the states before taking this life change on?

Here's another thread that outlines some costs of living in the DR. You might want to re-post your question (in another thread, being this one has to do with real estate), being more specific as to your needs (first class or bare bones accommodations), what part of the country, whether you are single or with a family, etc. In my uneducated opinion US$7,000 will only last a few months unless you scrimp.
