One thing to consider about where to put down roots in the DR is the fact that Hurricanes hardly affect the North Coast Sosua/Cabarete area. That was a reason for me to pick that area. Been there and done that with that Hurricane crap. No fun coming out of a basement shelter and nothing is standing.
