I just left domrep on feb 21, after 10 months living here. I paid 2500 pesos overstay tax and the immigration officer herself told me its cheaper to pay the overstay fee every time I leave rather than become resident. I am married to a dominican and we plan to live here permanently, with occational trips back home every 6-9 months.
