We have put an offer on a house, no guarantee it will be quite.
Watch out, because you just might buy somewhere and within 6 months you'll end up with a very noisy neighbor. The only difference is that it will be much more complicated to move out, because you own the place.

Not really. Moving out is easy. Selling is difficult. Just rent to a noisy Dominican.

We agree that selling is difficult. Another thing is that noisy folks are usually bad renters, late with payments & so on. So at the end of the day, it's better not to own property here. I also believe that it's an illusion to think one has discovered a "quiet area". Because it's only quiet for so long, until a noisy neighbor shows up. And it WILL happen! Doesn't matter if it's campo or city. After decades here, I'm getting to wonder about how it can be livable anymore...

I hear what you're saying, but neighbors can make or break your rental experience.

I've lived in various peaceful communities where a new tenant moved in and terrorized folk with blasting music. In each case, neighbors visited the person involved and told them in no uncertain terms it wasn't happening in our world and the person capitulated.

I've only seen one case where a noisemaker refused ( Don't like it? Move!) and went through three sets of confiscated speakers before he finally gave up.
