Hello everyone, we are a Canadian couple looking to invest in R&D. We were told about Maria Abreu. Has anyone worked with her firm before? Is she reliable? I've seen a lot of videos, but we'd like to hear feedback. Thank you all.

I think you are better with Guzman Ariza law firm. I use them for residence and buying property and no complaints, not the cheeps but good results.

Do you have any experience investing in the DR already? What kind of research did you do by yourselves?

Do you have a specific city or province in mind where you would like to invest? Be aware that you may lose (part of) your investment by listening and following the wrong advice, where your money disappears into the pockets of 'super nice friends'

Have you already looked around the island for 3-6 months? Start with your own common sense before following all kinds of well-intentioned advice!

I have not worked with her but I saw many complaints about her in Facebook expat groups

Without a personal reference from a good friend, I would stick with Guzman Ariza. They're the biggest and oldest law firm in the DR.
