Richard Branson is in town again , seen last night at Nikki Beach dining , NB did their inoffical opening yesterday .
Does Virgin fly to Punta Cana? Does anyone know? I remember they started flying to Varadero in Cuba some years back. I meet one of his employees there. Who was there to train the staff. And he came there a few times before they started flying. I dont know if they still do. So it could be he is planning on opening flights to the DR. If he is spending all this time in Cabarete he may be thinking of openening in Puerto Plata and not Punta Cana.
It would be good if this managed to get into the newspapers and magazines and give the tourist strip over there some good hype and a bit of a lift, maybe drown out some of the sh1t that certain people have been banging on about for god knows!!
Lets hope he makes it a regular stop off, can only be good as far as I can see.

It would be nice with Virgin flying to the DR. Ok maybe not realistic.He has been extremely lucky with the wind. Last time he was here it was superb and today just amazing. Hey, hope he buys the Punta Goleta misery and turn into a landing spot for kites and his helicopter.
Maybe he is looking for other ventures these days, he was it was well known considering getting into the Casino in Macau 3 yrs ago, but that was before Mr Adelson overstretched himself, Lehmans liquidity and to cap it all, the Chinese Government placing severe restrictions on the mainland Chinese coming to Macau for a spot of R&R (gambling). This was all the talk when we were on site at the Venetian and looked promising for a time.
The DR could be well placed to take hold of his visionary imagination and see what could be developed from here on in. Maybe / maybe not ?

irate:I think he has his hands full with opening a new bank in the EU and probably trying to find a way to keep his airline business making money. But he is a guy that thinks big and does it...I think he should be in that Do Equis bear commercial with "The Most Interesting Man". Seriously, the Nikki Beach Bar is opeining in Cabarete soon and that has a jet set type following and really, Kite Beach, is known around the world for kiteboarding... Cabareta needs a few good hotels and it could change quickly into a more well known...upscale vacation...fun place.
I hear that Mr. Branson purchased a big condo on Cabarete beach in the new Millennium project. Can anyone confirm (or deny) that?
I hope so, that would be a good boost for Cabarete.
They should give him one and piggy back off his name.
I understand there was an attempt to sell the beachfront penthouse... whether it happened, I don't know.
The group seemed to really enjoy themselves on their tours & the winds for kiting were great while they were here. Upon their last departure, said they would be back.
