Hi, we will be coming over in 4 weeks time and I really fancy playing a round of golf while we're visiting. Are the prices as crazy as one site I visited earlier that quoted over $300 including club hire?
You can go to Casa De Campo, they got a huge golf course to play, a top line 18 hole
Iberostar is the best deal. If you can convince them that you are a local, you can get a round for $60US. You can join their "club" for $99US a year and pay $45 per round.
Unless you are darker skinned, I think they want to see a copy of your title of property.
I'm working on my tan before we fly over
Seriously though, thanks very much for your replies so far everyone. Think our hotel is Gran Bahia Principe Bavaro but I'd have to check. My wife booked it, I'm just counting down the days.
Not a real serious golfer so playing the best courses and paying top dollar would be pointless.
Bring stuff like sunscreen. Probably cost a lot there. Also even though it is all inclusive bring alcohol (duty free) if there are certain things you like to drink. There top shelf can be limited. Depends if you are picky or into wine or some premium alcohol. They will have plenty of light and dark rum, mamajuana and presidente on tap.
I am looking at their website:
FREE Domestic Drinks in any of the 7 Bars available until 11pm (After 11pm the Pueblo Principe Snack Bar Will Serve Snacks, Beer and Soft Drinks)
FREE House Wine Served With Meals (Except at Snack Bars)
Some people don't care about house wine and domestic drinks. But if you like Crown Royal, Jack Daniels, Absolute, Grey Goose, more expensive wine, champagne, etc get it in duty free. Or it would make an excellent gift / tip if you decide not to drink it. They seem to like Baileys Irish Cream for some reason.
Also bringing your own cup is a good idea. Something larger that will keep your drinks cool. If you drink their drinks are normally in a small plastic cup. They will fill up your cup if you bring a larger insulated cup.
Not sure about that place. But a lot of them you have to make reservations for the restaurant (early) or your end up at the buffet. A of people do not seem to tip especially at the pool bar. But if you are going to tip you can bring a lot of dollar bills which is 43 pesos. Having a lot of small bills makes it a lot easier. People do not make much and it should be appreciated. Or if you exchange into pesos try to get close to 43 as the rate and get a lot of 50 and 100 bills.
Unless you are darker skinned, I think they want to see a copy of your title of property.
