I do not know about 17k for a gun, but I do know some people who think that their "guns" give them some type of "status". Agree, juvenile thinking and probably the type of person who should not have a gun.
My wife told me that Dominicans fear a Guy with a Gun more than they fear the Devil.
I was dealing with a crazy Neighbor walking on top of one of our Buildings for Years to look for Mango and anything else that he "might need".
Shouting, Trip wires with alarm, threatening with Police etc all in vain.... until i pointed my Gun at him. Never seen him since and this was 5 years ago.
But when a Cop draws his Gun in any Conflict i witness, this is when i am running.

I am well aware. The poster is from Sosua I am guessing. Few if any are paying 17 thousand U.S dollars for a pistol. A gun as a "status symbol" how juvenile.
It is a terminal disease, the false Dominican pride. It is the same mentality as the delinquents on 50 dollar motorcycles with the naked lady silkscreen plastic seat driving around popping wheelies; or the 4 year basic college degree demanding folks call them Licenciado or Ingeniero.

Pretty scary yes, considering they had to abandon the tasers because they couldn't figure out how they worked after 30 hours of training

If I had a bioengineering degree from Clemson, I would have it printed on my business card with a orange tiger paw stamped on it, and I would demand top dollar.
