While you're hanging may I suggest you read every single thread in the mars/venus forum right from the begining There's lots to read and then if you find something that hasn't been covered, discussed and argued about by all means post a question.

Thanks

I am just wondering...

Anna, you say search the archives, read the threads, if you find your questions are not answered then by all means, post them.

My question.......seems to me almost ~everything~ to be covered about men & women has been covered in this forum.......what the heck do you guys find new to discuss :)

I actually, though I know it's been covered time & again, love reading the new posts that come up from new members if for nothing else then to read the responses!

Trish,
someone has to answer these old questions so when I see that the responds are slow in coming in I direct them to the old threads. But if you have answers by all means post them.

For example: this thread has 22 posts but only two answer the question asked.

From experience - the sankies don't like to be called so. A friend of mine - talking about sankies at the resort he works for - didn't refer to the women as sankies - so it might be a male thing and woman are just simply referred to as hookers, prostitutes, etc etc

It seems...

the question was answered fairly quickly wasn't it, and the answer does seem to make sense - sankie - dirivitive from "hanky panky". I know my experience with this is ~nil~.......which kinda relates to kunky's other thread about larger women being "picked up" more often then not. Each time I've been down to DR I've not so much as had a hit on me! sheesh.....wait...there was one incident last Feb when I was down - mid afternoon and I was on my way to the bar to get a drink - music was playing and this waiter comes up to me and starts to twirl me around - I laughed and went to walk away - he grabbed me and pointed to his lips.......he wanted a kiss! lol...told DH about it and he laughed and asked me to point him out....which of course in my ~pina colada~ state, I couldn't. So yeah! I've been hit on...(yay me)....anyway.....my two cents! :D

Sankies

So, if I understand correctly, a boiled-down definition of a sanky would be:

a person, usually male, who tells others what they want to hear and makes promises they have no intention of keeping in order to eventually extract money from them.

Other than the fact that the people on the other end in this case are mostly women, this sounds like the definition of a typical politician to me.

Just an observation.

Regards.

What person, from a foreign country, for that matter in a person's own country, isn't going to jump at an opportunity to romance someone into giving them everything they want or a chance to better themselves at someone elses expense. Its always easier when you have someone that cares enough to help you out.

The thing is that Dominican Men in general have smoother pick up lines, No matter what they say its sounds sexy. They can look at you as if you are the only one in the entire world. So its easy to fall pray to their "Muela". Not to mention they way they move. It's like daaaaammmmmnnnnnn.

and a good one too! Maybe that's what politicians did before they became politicians? or maybe that's why the politicians here tend to be pale, pasty and pudgy: they couldn't make the grade as smooth, sexy sankies so they took the other option best suited to their skills. I can just hear the careers advisor. "No, Jacinto, I don't think that would work".

In the long run the politicians have to be better at it because from what I have seen they sure can't depend on their looks or even charm. hehehe

At last! A new angle on the sanky theme

Old sankies never die, they just go into politics.

What's the definition of a politician? A sanky school reject.

On the other hand...

so....

OK, so sanky comes from hanky-panky but why sanky and not danky or manky or shaggy-panky perhaps?
Anyone cares to enlighten us?

That struck me as quite funny.
Right in the middle of a bite of ice cream.
I thought I was gonna die.
