Hilton is calling crowd-weary travelers back to the Caribbean with the opening of Zemi Miches Punta Cana All-Inclusive Resort. The newest member of Hilton's Curio Collection, the property is in the lesser-known coastal town of Miches, about 90 minutes north of Punta Cana. It marks the first all-inclusive Curio Collection property, part of the Hilton Honors program, in the Dominican Republic.

A sale is $500 per night for the boring area of Miches? Good luck with that Hilton. Temptations was catered to a "special" crowd and they didn't last there.

Some people are looking for quiet, boring areas, they do not want all the activities, etc. I am just not so sure of the location, being a distance from the nearest airport.

You can figure about an hour and 20 minutes from PUJ to the Hotel. And there is no traffic on the stretch to Miches............

Some people have more money than brains. $500 a night?

With this deal, all-inclusive room rates for two adults start at $500 in the fall shoulder season or $858 in peak months like January and February.

Some people see it a lot different than you. That is for TWO people, 3 meals and drinks a day right on the beach. Go to any hotel in Europe and see if you can compare this price with the money you would spend there...............

Indeed some people are different. They have more money than brains as I already mentioned. Same kind of person buys a Land Rover, for example.
They might like AI resorts and I do not at all like them.

It is virtually impossible for me to get to the EU at this time, so I will never know unless I want to look up prices for comparison out of curiosity. If I did go to the EU or anywhere else, I would not stay at an AI resort. I would travel around as much as possible.

Just thinking the same thing. Quiet luxury works for me.

You can certainly do that.
Amsterdam, Brussels, Paris, Madrid, even London for example. You can easily do that with a budget of US$500 per day. Unless you only eat and drink champagne, caviar, crab and lobster all day..

There are budget airlines and hotels where you can, with a bit of luck, spend a week AI in Turkey or Egypt for that money or a few bucks more. (depending on the season of course)

Sure you can. But you would be in 3 stars or less hotels and eat in cheap restaurants. And charged in Euro instead of Dollars. Check hotel rates in nice hotels before you venture.............

No! They just have huge stomachs they want to fill with a shovel. No matter the food or preparation, it must be greasy, salty and plentiful.
