School year closes 29 July; end of year tests required to pass

The National Education Council that rules education in the Dominican Republic met on Tuesday, 8 June 2021 and decided how the school year should end in the Dominican Republic. Among the decisions:August will be the vacation time for students. The school year will end as planned on 29 July 2021.The National Standardized Tests (Pruebas Nacionales) are canceled for the 2020-2021 school year and students passing the grade will receive the certificates in the secondary level.Customary end-of-course exams will determine who passes the grade in elementary, secondary and adult education levels.

we have hordes of parents coming to us trying to get the kids into the school for the last two months so they can pass their grades. Isn't happening except for some rare exceptions.
