Does anyone know (for sure) if I can transfer money from the Scotia Bank in the DR to the Scotia Bank in Canada. I have accounts at the bank in Canada but not in the DR.

If that is not possible does anybody have some reasonable suggestions for sending money from here to yourself in Canada.

As long as they participate in SWIFT on either side you can wire

I just saw you do not have an account on both sides, but if you have a bank account with SWIFT here on the ground you can still wire. If not maybe a friend here can do it for you. Wiring fee most likely 50 to 100 dollars. Scotia Canada has swift codes for each locale. It's an easy lookup. If you have PayPal in Canada attached to your account than someone with a PayPal attached to a DR Popular account is also an option. My experience is friends normally don't like to do these kinds of favors

I have successfully used Scotiabank Canada International Bank deposit to both a Scotiabank DR account and a Banco Popular account. The key was to setup the recipients using the Scotibank Canada IOS app and not the Scotiabank Canada website. Once the recipients were setup, transfer can take place in either the app or the online banking web site.

I suggest testing with small amount until it you can confirm it.

The piece of information I could not find anywhere was the routing number. I found those through trial and error.

Scotiabank DR 008
Banco Popular 003

I hope this helps others, this is a lot less costly and way more convenient for me.
