The funniest thing is one of the biggest offenders to this has a government position of Director of Nightlife/Restaurant operations for Covid-19.. it's a joke.
Indeed it is a joke, a very bad
joke at that and we are the punch line.

That method works with normal people mostly, with high profile folks they will be arrested, phones confiscated, and a coverup story of how a rogue press member was trying to record a high profile government meeting without permission. Not worth my time unfortunately, maybe someone else will start climbing that mountain.
They'll also be thrown in jail
for the night then sued for defamation.

It's no wonder lots of people refuse to observe the govt's protocols. Leadership by example, of which there is a serious lack in this country. Corruption permeates every facet of life here because the officials can get away with it, so they do it. It's up to Adinader to level the playing field and he doesn't seems too interested in doing so despite a lot of public talk on the subject. Masks, gatherings and physical distancing, many high level officials just ignore the measures and the people see this and do so themselves. It's to be expected that some businesses have made an arrangement with the covid enforcers and examples can be seen in every town in the country. We all know at least on Businesses that should be closed but is brazenly open, bars/restaurants with far too many people inside, people without masks and too many gathered under the same tree or some other location. Until everyone gets serious about following and enforcing the rules, making the rules in pointless. Those trying to stay healthy must themselves dodge this gauntlet of noncompliance on their own. Some businesses are suffering needless economic hardship because those who would otherwise patronize them, are being forced to stay away due to the high health risk these non complainant establishments pose.

In Santiago there are restaurants that completely ignore the curfew and have been eating inside until 11pm every night. Included in the people eating are the generals and their families and governors .. who is going to force them to go home when they are the people that enforce the law?

Nuria or Alicia might wish to investigate this.
