To be honest, i can't figure out how any family here can survive on less than 150k a month.

What do I think? I thought this thread was about taking classes on being social but I now see that there is no class so I will remain unsocial and classless.

I know families here surviving on a hell of a lot less.

To be honest, i can't figure out how any family here can survive on less than 150k a month.
The 150k pesos per month figure is only for the' Clase media alta' and I think most expats will fall into that category whilst most Dominicans might not.
Exceptions exist, of course.

We give scholarships to families who have a combined income of 15,000 or less.

Recently we realized that clear cut off was muden- some of these families also are recipientes of remitances from abroad.
