Well, my US bank's normal wire transfer send fee is $45, so I guess you would say the same about that too. Luckily, they consider me to be a preferred client (or whatever they call it), so I don't pay that fee. Regardless, however you choose to send yourself money here, you gotta pay something, right?
Citibank the fee is $30 I'm talking about the little fees when you transfer money from your account to somebody else's account here they're always bang you up for a couple dollars it's a joke but it's definitely a money maker for them I'll say it again Banks suck here

Anyone who pays more than $5 to move $2,500 or less down here to a Dominican bank account from a US bank account is getting screwed by their bank.

There was a Rumor that Zelle was getting shut down for Drug money investigations . ?
( Zelle is Free Wire transfer, thats how it connects to this)
was curious if people use Zelle, I have found it to work flawlessly ..
Which may explan why the Banks who charge may want to shut it down.

We send money to our son via Zelle. It works well, the only difference is now they send a "passcode" to either your phone or email that you have to enter to complete the transfer. Didn't have to do that before. Although maybe it is just our bank that has that.

Convenience has its price - I gladly pay the 0.15% involved with the transfer, which allows me to move money freely without having to place a foot at any bank. BTW, Zelle although free; its ridiculously limited with amounts to be transferred

Banco Popular used to charge $7 USD to receive my wire transfers from my US account. A few months ago that charge went up to $10. I'm pretty sure all DR banks charge similar (somewhere around $7-10) to receive such transfers.

Thanks - I do not have USD account with them though
