I tried searching for similar videos and this is the only one of this kind on YouTube, so I guess this only happens in Sosua and nowhere else. Again, great find! 👏 👏 👏
I was being sarcastic 🙄 The point was that fights like that one happen anywhere. I would bet more fights happen at DisneyLand in a day than in Sosua in a month. Sosua is not "True family destination" because it has nothing special to offer, and not because of the fights.I do not generally think such videos are published on youtube...
Go to Philly, Detroit, NY, East LA, Oakland, Portland or Chicago and this will look like child's play on the streets of DR
Sosua still has very little that would be of interest to a family group. Nothing but the beach for the kids to do and not a great selection of AI accommodations on offer. Monkey Jungle and the zip lines are pretty much defunct. I don't think Mom and Dad want their kids sitting in a bar playing bingo or watching sports on the TV.
When I think about what other Caribbean family destinations have to offer that Sosua doesn't, the list is relatively small. A secure monitored beach area with a floating blob (Some have slides, some don't), some kayaks, peddle boats, and snack bars with young people in mind.. Most of this stuff belongs to the resort itself but some of it is from outside venders. Take the kids fishing, snorkel tours... The Resorts also have game rooms inside the resorts.. a couple of pool tables, foosball, electronic games.. At the pool area, there are timed monitored daily events specifically designed for the kiddies.. Ever seen paddleboard yoga? How about nightly hermit crab races? Many resorts also offer child care on site for when mom and dad want a little time together... Have a look at Westin, Four Seasons, Viceroy and Mariott Frenchman's Cove.. They all are on crappy little islands that have nothing to offer families either, but families come..
They don't have to build Disneyland here.. However, there is one thing that these resorts don't have that Sosua does.. Wonder what that could be... Bottom line is the DR needs to attract family oriented resorts that are willing to invest large.. They're not going to do it in an area where prostitutes and weekend warriors are everywhere. Would it happen overnight if they got rid of the putas? Nope.. Will it ever happen in Sosewer? probably not in my lifetime..

Perhaps resources are spread too thin? As I mentioned before, the level of coverage the police are trying to maintain is unsustainable.

This place is almost around the corner from the new police station. So many people were outside pushing and shoving and trying to get in that the police had to be called and a fight broke out inside between a patron and a waiter and they were called again, so it's not like the police didn't know what was going on.

I drove by and the entrance is blocked and like I said above, they are loading furniture in vans !!
