Lawyers representing a driver of a Ferrari that on Sunday evening, 25 August 2024, when speeding on the Av. Abraham Lincoln crashed into a light pole, have demanded the removal of the video showing the crash that was originally posted on AccidentesRD, a channel that seeks to create awareness and safe driving.

In the incident, only the Ferrari was damaged and the driver apparently did not suffer any major injury. In the past, speeding of expensive vehicles on the Av. Abraham Lincoln late at night has resulted in injuries and deaths, and major losses for innocent bystanders.

Several news commentators question the legitimacy of the request given the newsworthiness of the happening.

As reported in Hoy, lawyer Anny Guzman argues on behalf of her client in her request for removing from the media the video of the speeding Ferrari that Art. 44 of the Constitution guarantees respect...

How can anyone get above 30mph on that congested stretch of road.

I don't see how not prespecting his privacy could help the cause. In any other country a "Public Shaming" like this would certainly have some positive efect on others but here in the DR !? There is no shame ! Let's just call him "Idiot" and blacken out his licence Plate. The damage to him is already done. I'm pretty sure that a car like this has Full Cover Insurance and after the Video going viral, i doubt that the Insurance Company is going to pay one single cent.

Assuming the guy wants to be famous, it is marketing genius to have a high speed crash in a Ferrari and then ask for privacy. Well played.

Av Lincoln is a public road. The video is public record. The video exposed the operator's lack of respect for traffic rules... He is expecting to wash the video record showing his stupidity. He is lucky he is not dead. A young man from Higuey died from a crash in 2010 because he was racing his Ferrari on Av Lincoln.

Figure out who this guy is, and you probably know who the driver was. They look very similar:
