I too have enjoyed reading the blog. Every time I read a new story I wondered why in the hell is this man still living here?

I still have many unread pages, but from the beginning I also wondered why you put yourself through all this...I spent 6 mths in a very small village in India with no electricity and no running water, but people were basically good, did not steal and were no threat to anyone. Would you go live in a US ghetto to prove a point, and what would be the point if you risk your life?

So Dan do you think this is it or just until you and Altagracia make up again? Would you ever move back to Villa Mella?

He WILL go back!!!!
NO DOUBT!"
As "Dr Phil" says: "The best indicator of future bahavior,is past behavior"
People do "Things",because they get "something" out of the result.
"Dan" loves "Drama".Then he can say,"Look at me,and all I can endure",I'm a martyr!
I think "Pesonal Blogs Suck"!
You not only get what you "deserve",in Life, you get what you allow others to "Give" you!
He should call his "Drama",How to live like whimp in the DR!
Bad thing is,if "Dan" leaves, about 25 Dominicans will have no money!!
I Almost said:"25 Dominicans will have to get a job",but we know THAT is not going to happen. They will just find some other chump to provide for them!

Well I've just read the first page with 3 installments and only have one question, WHY?

This guy must be mental!

Excellent writing ability, but he is completely off his nut!

Well, that may be. I am sorry that you yourself have nothing to act, sing or paint about, as you put it. But here is another post nonetheless.
Santo Domingo Diaries

As to http://santodomingodiaries.blogspot.com/2012/04/last-fight.html-- those events happened almost exactly one year ago. While I still talk to Altagracia on the phone from time to time I hope I never go back; she is not a bad person pero ya tu sabes. We still have real estate issues to dissolve and I miss Chany. I do have a new girlfriend who I will not write about. As always I welcome any feedback re the blog. and I thank everyone who responds.
best regards,
Dan

very interesting post and fab photos :classic: how do you tell if the paintings are authentic as compared to some of the kids in the neighborhood just having a go with the burnt end of a stick? Do you send anything off for testing? I really liked this post although I am sorry for the damage done to your vehicle.

Create an e-book of all your posts ?

Dan,

I have read several of your postings (since the start) and like them very much.
I would love to have access to a compilation of them in book format.

Have you considered to compile your blogs into an e-book and offer them for sale?
This is rather easy to achieve these days.
My preferred format is the open ePub standard, supported by my own Kobo Touch eReader :squareeye.
Kobo offers a publishing platform for authors to create and self-publish their own eBook and generate some revenue from it, without the obligation to bind you to them.

I would definitely be interested to buy your e-book!

It's such a shame that there is such a destruction of nature. ie the garbage pile in the cave.
I really enjoy reading your bog :)

Dan, sorry but I am compelled to say thank you for your post about your time in Villa Mella. It is so rich, so insightful, like others, I just hope one day to see it in print. I have a lot more to say, but right now I am overwhelm by the stories.
