Hi,

My partner and I would like to start our own business in interior design. Special paintworks, European materials, and consulting. I am going to contact all the architects and big construction companies. I was wondering if there is anybody who can give me more information, as to websites, well known companies,...

Thank you in advance.

What area of the country are you intending to operate in??? That will help us. Are you already here? Or are you moving here?

We are living in Santo Domingo, the capital of the Dominican Republic. We are Belgian from origin, lived and worked in Spain, and now moved to the Dominican Republic. We have been living here for over a year now. We have done projects in the US, and in Europe, but would like to get things going here in the DR. There are many architects, and construction companies in the DR. I found them trough the yellow pages and other sites. But still all info is more than welcome. I really want to get the business going, in the DR.

Regards.

Yes, try Google, good one!

Of course I tried Google already, I was just wondering if I could get any additional info through this forum. Maybe a direct contact, who knows.

As I already mentioned we have worked in Europe and the US but just started here.

Read my post again.

Telling you to try Google was a serious response as are the questions I asked.

In order to get any help, you need to make a little effort in explaining what specific help you need. Using superpagesdr.com and sites like that is a no brainer, but that isn't going to get your foot in the DR.

You will find that most Dominican small businesses, like architects and so forth do not have web pages. You may want to try yellow pages instead.
Still, I think, you will learn to do business the Dominican way... by networking or just as a walk in and trying to get appointments.
You will get a lot of interest and even promises of all sorts..., still it will be up to you to contact them again and again.

If you do decorative plaster (like "Venecian"-plaster) and you also do install it correctly and / or plan to teach/school installers, I will gladly meet you when ever you are in Puerto Plata (PM me).
