When I married, here in the dr, the uk embassy was actually helpful ( well a bit, not too much...).
They stressed 2 points.
1. If my dominican wife wanted a uk passport, we have to live 5 years in the uk. ( but she doesnt so that was that.....).
2. If our children (that dont exist) are to be british citizen, I had to live 2 years in the uk. ( which I havent )
So I guess the contrary is true, if u have lived at least 2 years in the uk, ure children are intiteled to british citizenship, regardless or the mother's nationality.
If I was in ure case, I would contact the foreign office......
