Lol

What do you mean "pre-game"?? Are you refering to drinking around the corner in the streets with a plastic cup or drinking in the back of a bodega with the Mexicans, hahahaha. Chicas don't get all sexy and hot, just so they could buy their own drinks.

What the Dominican chicas call cheap guys? I forgot.

I will gladly pre-game at home or in a bodega than pay $10 for a Presidente. sorry but that doesnt sound reasonable to me....the girls can call me chipi all they want but if it is outrageously priced in a dominican establishment then something is definately wrong!

But But now men expect it........there's a guy who i've been talking to and he thinks he can impress me by telling me he's going to take me out to a nice restaurant to eat shrimp and drink champagne..................i felt like saying, no i am not crazy about shrimp, not so healthy..

Shrimp and champagne is a nice aphrodisiac and very natural. Try it once and you will be hooked for life;)

I asked thisquestion earlier, but got no answer. Do they serve "Corned Beef and Cabbaage at TGI Friday's"? If so, what is the cost???

I sampled some of their other menu offerings when I passed through Nassau, the Bahamas, in 2000 and wasn't all that impressed with either the selection or the quality.

adrian, you know, I'm getting quite tired of your 'cute comments'. Texasbill is a gentlemen. He is a quite a little older than you. He has done great things in his life. He does not have to mess with wippersnappers like you.

Have some respect dude! TexasBill is an age where you have not learnt to count yet ...:laugh:

My Review of Santiago, DR TGIF

Invited my parents last week for lunch at TGIF.....

Service at entrance very professional, lovely ladies.....

We had a drink and a 3 person aperitif which my mom loved.... those fried potatoes with pico de gallo and all that stuff around..... the drinks where very good and it didnt take much time for them to serve them..... Dad ordered the Jack Daniels Costillas which where very good and mom got the salmon wich was... ok... i had pasta with chicken and spinach, wich was nice but didnt blow me away...... the costillas (baby back ribs) where awesome......
My only observation (not even a complaint) was the lack of experience from our waiter, wich, although he was very attentive of us looked a bit lost sometimes, nothing mayor......

I loved the experience and the food was very good..... As AZB pointed out they have my business (too!!)..... only when the $$$$$ allows it!!!...

Regards

My intent was not to make fun of TexasBill, he definitely is as you say, a true gentleman who I have had the good fortune to meet. I was just trying to make a joke with the situation. My apologies if it came across wrong.

As is the case with all these places in the country the clientele patronizes these places solely for the atmosphere and to hang out. The food is nothing spectacular and quite frankly the stuff at Ahi-Bar is better. The decor and the vibe from the place is why Santiageros visit, not to be culinary snobs.

I had lunch in Puerto Plata with my missionary ladies from Santiago (Americans) and they raved about TGI Fridays. They had been there and were planning on going back many times. They said that the next time I was in Santiago we would go there to eat. I guess I have something to look forward too on my next trip.

2028 pesos for a double hamburger and some other shrimp related dish. What I dont get is why the restrooms have a W and M on them in a country that speaks Spanish. I have only eaten at a TGIF in the US once way over off Knapp St exit of the Belt Parkway. The ambience was too loud for me here and there. It has that Applebees, Fuddruckers thing where they put pictures of actors, street signs and trinkets on the walls. Damn! Is no one individual anymore? The menu was the same which was disappointing to me. Even though it was good to know the food did taste the same as it did in the US. And so was the bill $54?

I used to eat out all the time, until they started to add the 26% tax. The prices on the menu look cheap. Average meal cost between 300 and 400 pesos. But, when the bill comes it is always over 2,000 pesos.

I don't know how this restaurants will stay in business. The TGIF in santo domingo does well, but the one in santiago is always empty. Plus they just opened Tony Roma's and Chilis in santiago.

yea, I went there at like 930-10p and it was empty but then again it was like a tuesday night. I figure on the weekend the place would be full of posers with big pockets. The bill before ITBIS was like 1600pesos but after the tax 2000?????????????????? Man! This is why I only take people I want to eat with out to these places. I met a babe on Monday who was like "I ll meet you in Montezuma at 7pm". I was like "Nooooo, I dont think so". "You can meet me in Parque Chachases at 5". She says "No, I cant meet you in a park". I say "screw you, you aint hustling me for a free meal". Shoot, you get one drink in Montezuma you are already in the hole for 800 pesos. Man you gotta shut them down before that mess starts "meet in Kukra Macara". Please! You gotta work your way up to ANY restaurant with flashing lights, shoot even a place that has tables NOT bolted to the floor and where you dont sit on laminbated plastic benches. Imagine that!

Shoot, Fridays? I dont even see anyone in Tony Romas and they are more expensive.

The good part is that the meat is imported so it has a better taste than domestic.

Hahaha true, hated it when it happened. That's why I always underlined that only me and HER are going out nobody else. Only way his amiga can show up is if only with her boyfriend/chulo/maipiolo/tiguere with her so he can cover her expenses.

It's expensive, but the happy hour is really cool place to hang out and meet with friends, or even meet new people ( generally it would be hard sometimes, as most people come in big groups already). Everytime I'm in Santiago, I go there !

When is it usually full of people and/or the happy hour? The only time I went there it was empty because I was still eating at US hours since I arrived the day before.
