AZB....alll those folks you are seeing in there are eating "for free"....they have been given invites. Grand opening happening over the weekend and then normal business next week.

This makes sense, because I saw no promotions of this restaurant anywhere and certainly no grand opening celebration.

So, IS TJI FRIDAYS OPEN!?????

For instance, can I go there for dinner tomorrow???? Does anyone know? I drove by there last night (Saturday) and it was packed with people.

I'd like the scoop!

TJIF and Micro Foods...

most definitely! they DO grill the meats. But all sauces, sides and veggies etc come in plastic bags that are microwaved

AH, perhaps it is so they don't have dip the veggies in CLORO???

It will save us all from having diarrhea for a week (amoebas  )

The grand opening was last night. It was a thundering grand opening. I am sure the place will be mobbed for a few weeks before we will get a chance to try this place.
I will wait.

Actually, I'm glad to see it. Not so much as because of the effects of "Americanization" (after all, who wants a Mickey D's on every street corner?)

But it, along with the Marriott opening and other new restaurants and such, may be due to the oft-mentioned increase in foreign investment. More businesspeople can mean more work. And a more balanced economy that helps more people. And that usually sounds like good news to me.... :^)

So save an order of chicken wings and cheesesticks for me....

Hey. A gringo can't live on mofongo and sancocho alone, now can he? I, for one, will appreciate the variety.

Yup, I agree. I eat in dominican restaurants all the time. One of the reasons I travel to USA is to taste something different. Now TGIF has brought that variety right to my door step. I will surely be their customer.
