We're doing it, for sure, without a doubt.
Dafishguy and I talked about it but I didn't get around to posting before leaving for my next trip.
My bad.
We'll do the same as always, the full turkey dinner with all the trimmings and we were thinking of asking for a minimal fee, like 200 pesos and we'll have a money jar for those who would like to contribute a few pesos or bux towards the kids' presents for our annual New Year's Eve distribution.
There's no obligation.
If you can't afford to contribute, the meal is still 200 pesos and in the spirit of Thanksgiving, it's Dafishguy's (Rick, the new Rocky) way of celebrating Thangsgiving, by giving a little something back to the community.
More details to follow.
PS: We'll only be cooking for 40, as the bigger events are too much for everyone. The smaller groups end up being the best gatherings.

Really sorry that we won't be able to make it this year as it's such a great event and so good to see everyone and enjoy the excellent food, drink and good company. The good news is that the reason we cannot attend is that we will be meeting my son, Adam, who is arriving at POP airport that very afternoon to enjoy his first week ever here in the DR with us.
Just to clarify, I have "met" Mike, but only briefly, and we did not really have a chance to talk. So maybe we will get the chance this Thanksgiving.

For those who are not familiar with the menu, traditionally we serve up a couple of
Butterball Turkeys with Gravy,
Mashed potatoes,
Carrots,
Broccoli,
Cauliflower,
Brussel Sprouts,
Candied Yams,
And a Cake or Pie Dessert with Ice Cream.

We will certainly miss you and Charlie but it is definitely something you need to do.
Is your son only staying one week?Here are some more details about our Thanksgiving get together. We are going to start getting everyone together at 1 PM and start bringing the food out between 1:30 and 2:00 PM. As Marco posted, there will be tons of great eats.
Remember, if you want to attend, simply copy the list of attendees and put your name along with the amount attending at the bottom. Once we hit 40, we will close the list.
