Gordo-doesn't your vacation club accommodation include a kitchen and all that you need to cook? A fridge?

I stay at one of those when in POP, but am not restricted to eating/drinking there as well. It's simply a base for operations (!!) and I love having the flexibility of making my own cafe Santo Domingo whenever it is I choose to wake up! ALso love buying cheap, plentiful, fresh Dominican produce and seafood to make right at home.

I agree that being inside the AI is not ideal however I am usually outta there most of the day so it does not have to be an issue.

Hollywood North,

Yes, our accommodation does have a small kitchen that we use often when staying there. What concerns us is that the vacation club seems to be steering all the members to upgrade to the all-inclusive package. When we stayed there last February, I think we were the only ones not taking the all inclusive - we could be a dying breed!!

One of the features that really attracted us to this vacation club was the option of staying at any of their 8 sister resorts (no extra fees) spread out accross the DR. Unfortunately all the other resorts are AI's.

As long as they don't eliminate our right not to take the all- inclusive at our home resort, we will be fine. As you say, we will use it as our home base and spend a lot of time outside of the resort doing our own thing.
