The dreaded brown beetles

The flying termites/ants are back in swarms tonight as the rain falls.

Yup, swarms of them.......

They call them "termitas" - but I'm really not sure they are termites, as we know them, eating wood.

that is called the joys of sub tropical living insects........ants beetles bats lizards spiders, bad water,,,and what else?

squash a few of them to see/smell them then we know if they are stink bugs,...

When it rains heavily we sometimes get flying ants by the thousands. They lose their wings, very difficult to broom/sweep cos the wings are so light..........

Is that what those are? The brown ones? Good lord, I have screens everywhere and yet they manage to get into my bedroom as a swarm. Do they come in via the AC?

They are very much attracted to any light source including flickering TV screens. They will get to the light by any available means. Last night they were everywhere. Ours were crawling in under the doors.

We have learned to cook before dark------unless you want these brown beetles in your food. Putting on the pool light attracts hundreds and if we stumble around mostly in the dark they wont come in the house. Only 2 more months of the things---we hope!
