I never believe in "executions" but certainly they should be very severely punished.

Really, Mr Windeguy, you are a terrible pessimist (you will reply that you are a realist, as usual). In my view, if the authorities must do everything they can to at least reduce the number of arms entering Haiti.

As for prohibition never working, in the UK and most of Europe it is very difficult to obtain a gun, while in the USA it is very easy. Guess where there is more gun crime?
I am a realist. Please show me one place where prohibition has worked, be it guns, drugs, alcohol, etc.
But you can still get a gun in the EU or UK if you want to, correct? Be it illegally.
You can print a gun in your own house using a 3D printer.

What people want and will pay for, they will get. Having Dominicans focrced to ship produce to Haiti on ships
won't have a major impact on the guns entering Haiti. They will just enter another way.

I did give you an example. My example was that guns are much more difficult to obtain in the UK/EU than the US and thus they cause fewer problems.

If it were more difficult to obtain guns in Haiti, they would be used less - right? Not comparing Haiti with Europe at all just trying to emphasise that if guns were less available in other countries, fewer would arrive in Haiti.

But is it impossible to get one if you want one? I suspect they are available at a price, no?

One can wish for fewer guns in Haiti. My point is VERY simple. If Haitians have the money to buy guns, they will get them.

As another pointed out, it is the gangs that remain the problem in Haiti. Nobody is going to come to the rescue of Haiti from outside of Haiti.

It is mostly Haitians in south Florida shipping these weapons. The ports can help but it is impossible to search all the containers that pass through. Xray machines help but not all containers go through xray's.
My bad, I was referring to the 1st sentence

PJP, the comment seems to me to be more of an opinion, really no link you could post for that.
So his opinion was formed in a vacuum with no input or influence from any sources?

I will keep requesting sources and encourage others to do so as well for the betterment of this site and to enable us to discuss things without having to try and blindly seek out what could easily have been provided. It's the correct and polite thing to do

It's mostly an American attitude about guns.
Some from other gun loving countries but minimal. The rest of the world understands that if you take away easy access to guns, legal and otherwise there are a lot less crimes using guns. It really is that simple

Legalize drugs and take away guns. I am glad I don't live in your world.

Pretending not to understand what's posted and restating another's position on the matter inaccurately does not change anything, although it is a poor way to handle a discussion.

Most civilized people and nations understand that controlling and reducing civilian access to handguns and rifles drastically reduces gun violence.

The list of places that disagree with this is very short

I would suggest that you let the mods decide what is needed and when. This is the correct and polite thing to do. But of course, you can ask. Thank you
