I’d worry more about what would happen to me in the lower cheap seats if the aircraft crashed. The weight and mass of the upper seats crashing down on you might lessen your survival chances significantly. It’s bad enough they increased the number of seats, reduced the size of the seats, in flight services, fresh air exchange rates, and raised prices.

This is ridiculous. Imagine a nine hour flight from Europe to the DR sitting in those seats. Flatulence would be the least of your worries. The passenger sitting on the lower inside seat better not be claustrophobic.
