Blue Collar Town in New Jersey
Lol, indeed. Not long ago peeps were reporting here that Ahnvee was the next step in transforming Sosua into a international destination, attracting monied travelers from the U.S and Europe. It was such a super cool concept it would attract ultra chic fashionistas. LOL, now it has morphed into a lowly Hoe'tel full of chicas and dudes pumped up on testosterone, blue pills and liquor, lol, oh the transformation.

They have "DEEP Pockets" .. that's all that matters ...

dont be a Hata ..
LOL

( I hope the Police have a free for all, extorting money from them . )

Has anyone seen a guarantee or ordinance that specifically allows a 'tolerance zone' at the top end?
They could just decide to close that down if the whim takes them.

Also,I believe that this is private money and enterprise.Nothing to do with the city hall.
Anyone got further info?

A guarantee in the DR? That is humorous. Guarantees, except from PriceSmart, are "tail light" guarantees.

If "they" on the east end of Pedro Clisante don't keep their coloring within the iines, all bets are off.
Is that not clear from what just happened? The government in Santo Domingo finally got serious about this.

If you check what I said back when they announced plans, I indicated they had made a horrible error in judgement. The location was bad, not the idea, but the location. If the Scientologists truly knew there would be a relocation of hoe town to their location, I doubt very much they would have proceeded with the renovations. Ironically, that change might keep them open with sexually active adults.

There were other deals in the works for the area closer to the west end of Sosua that are and will be far more significant if and when they happen. The Marriott related construction near Bologna is one of them, it is underway, and it is not a Ritz Carlton, but it is fairly high end. Now over the next year or two we will see if others proceed.

With Dream City actually owning the land they want to sell, that might even proceed with being built. If done according to plans, it will be "Big"...in a manner of speaking.

That's the truth - I found out if shock absorbers break within 30 days - T**f**co in Puerto Plata will just claim you abused it...... Never mind you only drove on the roadway between Sosua and Puerto Plata.
There are no real guarantees in DR. Even if they damage something during delivery....it was your fault.

I hear a judge issued a ruling that the shut downs were illegal and the businesses can reopen ? You can buy whomever you like in this country. Pesos talk.

The owner of Kings is appealing the closure of his business and hopes to reopen this weekend.

I hope they succeed, because whenever I went there they were pretty strict about keeping it as a restaurant. It was nothing like it was as the old Rumba Bar, full of girls, although I admit I didn't go late at night.

Why would anyone invest 5 cents in the DR - this just underlines it - legal businesses just shut with no recourse - don't think they can't take your condo just as easy

BTW - if I were one of those black guys from New York I would have a hard time not taking these closures as a personal affront - those were by and large their bars and if the wish was to get rid of them - this will do it - of course they will take their millions of dollars each week with them

NYC-SDQ BABY!
I have zero righteousness in this. The Germans (or other people from the EU or the Canadians) did not bring this issue to the point where it is now where some will still insist that "nothing has changed" and "next week it will be where it was".

The DR government reacted to what was posted on the Internet and it was not the Germans, Canadians, or other Americans, (the ones quietly dabbling were not the problem) that did so. You can use process of elimination to determine who caused the problem, as you already correctly observed.

You cant be serious. How did I and most others learn about Sosua? It wasn't from those black guys who really dont get views on their videos; it was from a white guy from south Florida named Cuba Dave who was immensely popular on YouTube. But I guess it's easier to blame the weekend warriors.

Why must you make this a race issue? The RD gubmint does not want freerange putas in the public eye roaming the streets, alongside touts, drug dealers, and pimps.

I wouldn't trust anybody at this point.

The rules were simple after the last closing. All bars must become restaurants. King's, Chez Montreal and Bourbon all invested a lot of money to become "legal" and look what happened. How the hell can Chez Montreal get shut down, it's not even a bar. Maybe cause he stays open late or because he's in the "puta zone". It's a real shame to see these three places close and probably be forced to relocated. What else can they have done?

That place creates a traffic jam on the sidewalk - but they seem like a restaurant, albeit with horrible food and poor service. The only thing it offered was sports TVs and a place for putas to sit

So, now they close you because your food is not good?

Chez Mon Real is the name of the shuttered space in the old Harrison's, truly a loss.

I really hope this government moratorium on lickable sweets does not affect Helados Bon.

The motoconchos and the putas create the traffic jam, it's not the restaurants fault. I've only had the Big Nac and the pizza for take out and they were both excellent. Anyway, that has nothing to do with being shut down. Rheal, the owner, works his ass off from morning until closing to be the success he is. How can he be shut down and a puta place like Sondabar stay open. Something isn't right. More to the story.

What about the beach?

I guess they want to move the monger scene on the other side of Sosua (out of sight out of mind) and make this side of Pedro Clisante more family friendly. I would assume that the chicas will still be plying their trade during the daytime at the beach. Also, the mongers will still be utilizing the hotels around the corner on Dr. Rosen and those restaurants that cater to them. The only winner I see is not the town of Sosua or the monger. It will be the motoconcho shuttling customers from Playa Chiquita to New Garden Hotel. So I guess that the area will be family friendly only at night.

My guess is that the instructions given were to close all the hooker bars on Pedro Clisante, and whoever carried out those instructions did so to the letter. Sondebar is not on Pedro Clisante, so it was not closed, but I expect it will be soon.
