You are absolutely 100% on point correct, and investors understand this. The aspiring government is listening as well. Do not mistake the thought process, it will not happen overnight, but will happen soon. The next administration is going to be funded, in part, by these investors. Mongers should do some homework on seeking new horizons, preferably with shade trees. El Salvador. Honduras. Guatemala.

These investors, are they going to purchase all the property in Sosua and turn it into a Cap Cana. Maybe when they are done they can go to work on Boca Chica. Why not try and rehab Monti Cristi? Ah to dream. Are these super powerful investors the ones that clog all of those little bars slumped over their 125 peso beer for hours and hours wearing t-shirts and flip flops

One property at a time, yes. No, it will not happen over night.
Again, is your scenery less active than it was 10 years ago. Yes, or no? You never answered previously.
Things take time to phase out. Phases have begun, and are in the process.
As far as your picture perfect example of what the economy is like now, "the ones that clog all of those little bars slumped over their 125 peso beer for hours and hours wearing t-shirts and flip flops".....that is the blight some of us speak of.

I'm an investor. I would never pass my money into some closet that serves "philly cheese steaks", chips within a paper sack, or budget adult beverages. That is revolting.
Investing, is just that....investing. Whether it be in a particular property, business, and/or community.
Happier days are coming for the residents of this particular region if the next presidential election plays out correctly. For the residents, not so much the mongers. Remember where you heard it.

When do you expect the phase where prostitution is made illegal will begin?

That will not happen. I am under no misconception that this is possible. Phased out in this particular locale yes. Eradicated no.

Is Boca Chica the "experience" it was 25 years ago for a certain crowd? Is Monte Cristi the "experience" it was 35 years ago for a certain crowd? Now, do the math for when Sosua started to decline in activities. Math is simple. Accepting reality is not. For some.

You are a visionary for sure. I have always been a long term investor, but I will hold off on Sosua for a tad longer, good luck.

Many on here say it is about being embarrassed. It has nothing to do with that. It is about money...lining pockets and making more money to put more in the pockets of politicians. If the mongers lined more pockets...it would be mongers.

This crap about being all moral and embarrassed is laughable. You are right...it is not about families, it is about investment and how much of said investment can slide into secret accounts.

Lets stop the charade and call it what it is.

It has not slowed down as of yet. It has become more seedy and moved around but has not slowed down.

You will, I will not. This is where we differ.
Again, I am not attempting to rain on your parade, we are men....but on the same note, I am just advising you that the parade will soon be taking another route.
Whether you choose to heed the advice or no, is solely on you my friend.
Take some time, and ask around. What was Monte Cristi like in 1983? I was invested in discotecas then. Own, no. Invested, yes. Do you think the game has changed?

Seedy yes. Comfortable no. Do you think this is without reason? Please. You know. Are you as comfortable as you were 20 years ago?
No need to respond.

Cap Cana? Bad example. So many locals and foreigners stuck like pigs in bad real estate plays pre 2008. 10's of millions stolen, abandoned villa shells and big plans gone to waste. It will seemingly never recover.

In my 17 years of travelling to Sosua...the parade has changed every year by one degree or another. I remember 12 years ago having to escort girls to the disco otherwise they would be arrested or harassed by the police. Many things have changed but underneath has stayed the same. The corruption and abuse of the girls by the powers that be has not changed.

It has been close to a decade since I approached a lady on PC but I have friends that do. I do not see them spending any nights alone as of yet...

The one thing that has bothers me is how utterly boring the beach has become...

A lot of Russian money here now and they are building multiple projects.

And new Construction would certainly be an " Industry"....

Since I do consider you to be somewhat of an Expert on this tTic , with respect to the Sosua Economy especially , and Business trends in the area ... Can you tell us , are any of these " projects" NOT directly related to the TOURIST Business ??

Absolutely correct. It is that simple. Whore mongers will never comprehend this.
U really should run for Mayor ... since you have such a good grasp of the Sosua Economy, and have figured out how to drive the dirty whore mongers out of town as well ..
win win for everyone.

I think it has slowed down in the past few months. Whenever I have to go to Sosua I always try to go in the late afternoon. I used to enjoy stopping for a beer on Pedro Clisante and watching the parade of young ladies go by. Now, since the police have recently been arresting anything female that moves, there are very few girls walking around. Maybe it's different later on, but at the time I go there is definitely less activity.

Exactly..It's money in pockets and secret accounts. The powers that be care nought for the morals, or lack of, nor for the business owners who are suffering..Not one bit.

I actually believed the Good Mayor cared for the "the children" and the Girls who were plying their trade out of necessity to feed their children, that she genuinely cared about their Plight ...
but its rather hard to have respect for a Mayor who cant even make sure a Sidewalk is completed so the School children can walk safely .... She is either also part of the Corruption machine, or the most incompetent person yet .
These people dressed all in white, having their "Meetings" .. I cant even look at the pictures without Laughing.

Well thank you for the compliment. Good question you ask.

I think that all of us living here full time are either directly or indirectly affected by the tourist industry. Whether the new projects are being built for full time residences or the 6 month snowbirds the result of the builder is to rent them. The new construction here in Sosua is just amazing and yet many are empty....and still they build and build. Tourism is way down. I saw a big boom of expats moving here about 7 years ago and now that sector has slowed down as well, although many Italians are still coming to live here full time. Many have moved away or died. We live in a tourist town. Locals alone won't support all the restaurants and bars or even Supermercado Playero. So I would say that all projects are somewhat related to tourism and we can't afford to lose that sector.

I just head the other day that the infamous Ahnvee resort is in a lot of trouble and the employees have not been paid in 1.5 months. I just don't see a bright light at the end of this tunnel for Sosua….not for many years anyway.
