Maybe Monti Cristi will be the New Sosua....I am certainly not waging or poking anything, including noses..but you know ...if the chicas are run out of town..they will just go some where else, and with them their clients.....Doc.....

I’ll bring the marshmallows and matches... man I always wanted Togo to tailgate party..They could call it "Spandex and Crocs"! I'll donate two tires.
That would make it to easy for powers to be, look we cleaned it up all gone......I am certainly not waging or poking anything, including noses..but you know ...if the chicas are run out of town..they will just go some where else, and with them their clients.....Doc.....

If Sosua is successful in their actions over the next several months and many hookers are driven away, what town in the DR do you think will welcome them and their clients with open arms?
I agree that prohibition never works. What is going on in Sosua is finally starting to be correctly recognized as relocation and not prohibition. As many have pointed out, the new red light district relocation is not a sure success.

They have a saying here in DR "Christo viene" (for those uninitiated, it means "Christ is coming")... !
There is now a new one, "Sosua is changing" ....I have a premonition these two may happen at the same time ....!? lol
Enjoy the Halloween (and Jazz Festival), all bars and clubs and restaurants are still in the same place, pretty full, and welcome you with open arms... (pun intended...!). They even brought in a huge inflatable witch for the occasion - in case you couldn't find one amongst the current chicas...!!!
And if/when they move and all change, I am sure you can easily find them again.

I’m in! I can bring my guitar, maybe Windy can back me up. We can belt out a few Union songs and end with a rousing rendition of We shall overc*m.
I've always thought Montellano might be willing, and not a bad spot logistically. They lost the sugar cane factory. There was talk of it coming back, but...
No beach, but entrepreneurs would quickly fill that gap with shuttles. There's even an Elvis down on the beach. Playa Cangrejo?
The old Home Run bar could have been ground zero.
Nice suggestion, but I don’t see the people of Montellano welcoming that business model with open arms. There actually is a pretty vibrant nightlife there already in the center of town around the “Parque Triangulu Montellano” right off the main street (Calle Principal). It’s overwhelmingly locals, but I have noticed a few other “gringos” there lately.
As you stated, the old “Home Run” disco right on the main highway might work, but I think it’s a ferraterria now? There were also a few other bars/car washes/cantinas right there many years ago. It used to be a nice place to go dancing, but everything’s closed now.
Someone said in an earlier post something along the lines of “if they relocate the chicas to another town, their clients will just follow them there.” I disagree. IMO, if the working girls are all channeled elsewhere, the tourists who come here for the chicas wont necessarily follow them. They might just go to similar venues in other countries that are already “established”.
