I agree, like in 2005 -2014, when Sosua was the place to party, and where the locals from POP to Sabaneta outnumbered the tourist/expats when it came to weekend street parties. Live Bachata, Merengue, Raggoton, Presidente, Brugal, Booty shaking, and more importantly it was fun for all.

Yes Classico , Latinos, and Rumba were open, but the local mix was never a problem for the town. In fact I can not even remember seeing an Amet around, and the only security was hired by the local businesses.

Now here's an old idea for the future of Sosua..How about two pedestrian music street parties on the weekend per month (local pay periods) after 11pm, with only the bars/restaurants serving drinks for inside/outside consumption. For the diners, every night (6pm-10pm) all PC restaurants provide street table service. No cars/bikes after 6pm for the entire PC from Duarte/Dr Rosen intersection. The other 2 weekends can be arranged with street vendors selling goods, or family nights (bouncing castle, movie screen, face painting, etc) while dining in the street.

Now everyone can enjoy the evenings in Sosua if they wish to support local businesses. Fun for all!

Brilliant. Let's do it!

Yeah?? Well I find the weekend sex tourists offensive and if I'm not mistaken, it's illegal in the US for people to travel abroad for the purpose of engaging in sex tourism isn't it? Maybe your public service announcements should be directed at those that you are unbelievably sticking up for.. Think about it.. You're sticking up for slimy sex tourists.. What does that make you??
Although I'm no fan of the "slimey" sex tourist. Its perfectly legal to travel abroad
and bang as many (age of consent) prostitutes as one sees fit.

I've no doubt your virtue signaling is appreciated by your closest friends....

Then they are not my "friends" in which case... Who cares what what they think because they know absolutely nothing about me and have zero influence in my life.

BTW Cristo, you're correct.. The federal sex tourist law is for travelling to engage in sexual activities with underage persons..

Better check the osmotic pressure before gross misstatements.

Still looking for a bite I see.. Are you so desperate for attention that you resort to trolling people on an internet forum?? Pretty sad life I'd say.
No, compadre. I am and have been an active poster on the Dominican side for many years. Now, the cage is opened and you lot are on the Dominican posts posting misstatements. That's all, Skipper. Nothing more. I am doubtful of your knowledge and experience here on the ground. Simply put.

Make it a great evening!

lol, I have been dealing with hydraulic viscosity formulas for decades, guess it can be worked into a Sosua thread
Not sure the Morse equation relating to osmotic pressure falls into 'Hydraulic Viscosity' category but relates to pressure across a membrane of two dissimilar (or not so dissimilar solvents (fluids).
But then again it could be argued either way.
If we still had the OT forum we would could take it 'outside' there................

Actually Bernoulli's equation is more practical as one must take into consideration both static as well as dynamic pressure while accounting for the flow of fluid through Sosua it converges.

There is a local TV program called "Cara de Sosua". Last night a commentator made a few comments and I paraphrase them:

"The businesses in Sosua do not depend upon prostitution to survive.

Tourists are encouraged to visit Punta Cana and not the north coast. Part of the influence on tourists is the poor reputation of Sosua
from prostitution.

Sosua should be cleaned up (as in cleaning out prostitution) in order to encourage more family oriented tourism and to be able to better compete with Punta Cana. "

Note that these are not my comments, but the ones of a Dominican woman on local Sosua TV. She was very adamant about the need to
clean up Sosua and you whoremongers certainly know what she means by that.

"Sosua" is a sex trade town! The outskirts, I don't know. With the exceptions of a few restaurants and a store I never cross route 5. Sosua Abajo is a place that is not for me. Los Charamicos ,.lmao , It might be a quaint little place for some but most know it as a place where the chicas from Santiago and Santo Domingo sleep between "dates"
Not going away from one small part of one street in Sosua certainly limits one's perspective. The quaint place for "some" is those 50,000 people you don't see.

Huh, where have I heard of that before?

Seriously? There's 50,000 people in Sosua. If you can't see the middle class (or those struggling to get into it), I can't help you. But my statement is correct, there are more middle class Doms in Sosua then there were 20 - 30 years ago. And it is they that have been pushing for a different "atmosphere" in the downtown area - for quite awhile now. Those are just plain facts. You can make light of them, but they're indisputable.

Those citizens, along with certain real estate developments that are inevitable, are what will force changes on Sosua. It's going to happen.

Sosua proper 50,000? I think not. Ask anyone anywhere on the island about Sosua and the first thing they will tell you its a working chica town.FYI, the chicas come from the the 4 corners of the island (including Haiti ) to sell their product. The customers come from the 4 corners of the globe to purchase said products. The town is designed around this function. Dash in dash out cabanas , small cheap hotel rooms. The town has very little to offer families. If you hate the gentleman that seek skin so much and the industry why pray tell would you live or go anywhere near the town

Those in the prostitution business might disagree with her.
