I know of three times that has happened. One of them was my ex's sister and he was jailed twice.
I know of two cases where the mother filed a denuncia and the father was ordered to appear. If he didn't pay, he would have been jailed. He paid. The main problem is, many times the mother doesn't know where the father is.

That's why they invented DNA. Never take them to your house or give them your full name.

...and fired from his job and denied exit...odd!
Never had a job. Big time Jodedor (drug guy) No job but drove a new Honda Accord. It turned out he had 5 underage girls from the same housing project pregnant too.

Rivals took him off the map a few years later with some automatic firing into his face.

I understand. It sounds like he had it coming. However by and large very few are locked up and jailed for child support. Let alone, fired from their job and refused egress from the country all in the name of child support.

I think we're talking about two different things(?). I'm talking about dead beat Dominican fathers. Most couldn't afford to leave the country anyway. Jail is a coercive measure to get them to pay. Usually just short term. If he has a job, the court can garnish wages. Many can't be found and/or don't have a job so not much can be done with them.
