Are you serious???? Have you ever BEEN to DR? Cassava is sold and eaten in every nook and cranny of the country.

And this package is from the cassava capital: Moncion.

I can't stand Cassava! It taste like it was made with saw dust. The staple of the poor in DR. Yuck.

BB, let's not confuse yuca with cassava bread - light years away from each other!! :)

I love boiled yuca, mashed yuca, bolitas de yuca, arepita de yuca is my FAVORITE, empanadas made with yuca flour, etc., etc. It's just that cardboard that I don't enjoy.

I dunno what you've been eating, and I'm not eating the bread. But Cassava (Yucca) boiled until tender with sauteed red onions soaked in red wine vinegar or even topped with melted cheddar is better than potatoes any day. Better for you too. They even make Yucca chips instead of potato chips. Tasty.

To InsanelyOne, I agree. I ate hard tack as a kid, and this stuff reminds me of. I didn't like hard tack, and I don't like cassava bread.

Casabe con ajo, un chin de aciete verde, un poquito de sal, y un minuto en el horno is to die for.

It's the food of the gods, especially accompanied with a cold beer.
