The U.N. Security Council on Friday resoundingly defeated a U.S. resolution to indefinitely extend the U.N. arms embargo on Iran, with the Trump administration getting support from only the Dominican Republic but vowing further action to prevent Tehran’s sale and export of conventional weapons.

"America First!"
All countries would be wise to remember that during diplomatic relations with the current administration running the United States of America. The strongest move, that the other country that shares the the island with the Dominican Republic, could make would be to hint they are considering inviting China to make infrastructure improvements to their country. Play both sides against the middle and cut the best deal you can. Most world politics is often no better than the devil you know versus the devil you do not know.

Al J didn't forget the baseball:
3 - Baseball: No attempt to strengthen relations between the US and the Dominican Republic can be complete without a mention of the shared pastime of the two nations, baseball.

This year, a record 110 players from the Dominican Republic were on Opening Day rosters across Major League Baseball (MLB) in the US. Nearly all MLB teams have baseball schools or talent scouts in the Dominican Republic, which provides a strong starting point for future collaborations between the two nations in sport and education.

Go Yankees! Poor Bo-sucks.

All countries, without exception go by the rule of whats best for my country, except Islamic countries then its what is worse for Israel. The USA is more honest to deal with than China.

I just did some research and found out that the writer, Geovanny Vicente Romero, is well respected Dominican political strategist who also writes for CNN. He is a published author on development, human rights, international relations, governance, democracy, elections, the environment, as well as the role of women in society. Then I saw that he was the first Dominican figure to send an open letter to Vogue Magazine: http://www.diplomatmagazine.eu/2020...-vogue-about-recent-dominican-republic-cover/
