We stayed at Parco Del Caribe which has a wonderful 8.6 rating in Trip Advisor.
Pics must have been photo shopped. Inside it was dump. I bet places in Mogadishu can compete

I walked by there today. It really looks decent from the outside.

I just checked the hotel on Booking.com. One night for one came out at $31 plus tax, so it's not really five star prices. But the reviews were pretty good.

Gasper Hernandez is probably the worst of all the towns on the North Coast highway that need a bypass.

True, with Cabarete still pretty high on the list, although lower than it was because of the drop off in tourists over the years. More expats in new condos will bring that congestion up again soon.

One more negative about Boca Chica I neglected to post. There are areas almost on the beach that have a permanent stench. I can't see how they can market themselves as a tourist destination while at the beach you can get a lot of whiffs of shit. Very nasty.

yeah, that's what fooled us. Our room was a shit-hole. Plus the electricity shut off on us, safe didn't work, crappy mattress stunk like sweat, lukewarm water from the shower, Wi-fil sucked, etc. Walking barefoot on the floor guaranteed your feet were black after a while. Disgusting.

It was more like $50 a night since we reserved the combo room for the "Superior Apartment 1 Bedroom" (per their website)
We expected a 3 STAR Hotel and the 8.6 review rating to match the space
A 1 STAR was more like it
