The Trump administration has not been getting along with TikTok even when US companies prepare to take a majority stake in the company. Oracle, Microsoft and Walmart are reported to be in buying mode to oversee the video app’s global business. President Trump gave the companies hope when he said over the weekend that the Oracle deal has his blessing.

It seems that TikTok may go public in the US next year after all. The US government had announced a ban on TikTok and WeChat downloads as of Sunday, 20 September 2020. Yet the deadline was extended to 12 November.

Then President Trump issued an executive order on Friday, 18 September giving ByteDance 90 days to either sell or spin-off its TikTok business in the United States.
