British Columbia is going to let the Health Authorities to make the call. Both my sons say the restrictions don't affect them too much. They both use the gym, both are working, both are fully vaccinated, both travel when they want to locally, and their only complaint is the high price of everything. That conflicts with what I saw on CBC news this morning. I imagine the situation is very fluid. The vaccinated truckers are getting frustrated with the blockades.

The trucker blockades have galvanized a segment of the Canadian population to rally against the mandates but the real reason the mandates are dropping is, certain premiers were against them when they were implemented. The premiers of Alberta, Saskatchewan, and Manitoba, are conservative populist premiers who are the first to bail on the requirements. Quebec is not far behind and it has one of the largest Liberal voting populations in Canada, voters Trudeau needs to survive. Trudeau has a minority that could fall anytime.

Quebec will be the straw that breaks the federal governments back. Quebec citizens make up a large portion of Canada’s DR and Mexico tourists and expats. They will be extremely happy when the international travel restrictions are eliminated. Trudeau would have to be politically stupid to not see the handwriting on the wall.

The Windsor Detroit Ambassador bridge isn‘t blocked. It’s one lane only due to the trucker protest. Up to seven hour delays to get across. Truckers need to get though to US and Canadian automobile production plants for just in time parts delivery. If they blocked the bridge, the trucker protest would lose credibility fast.

Praise to the Freedom Loving Canadian truckers for leading the world by fighting their oppressive government.
Who would have thought those "nice" Canadians finally showed their backbone.

Same in my province Bob. Not much change in our lifestyles since Covid. Our vax rates are among the highest in Canada and we have the highest number of children vaccinated in Canada.

Saw three RCMP cruisers at my grocery store yesterday. The price of meat is so high, I thought someone tried to steal a prime rib roast.

Two young men entered the store and refused to wear masks. They were arrested and carted away in the police cruisers.

I really appreciate having a COLA benefit in my main federal pension and my OAP and CPP. Main pension went up 2.5% January 1st. Doesn’t put me ahead of price increases but I’m keeping pace with them.

As of a half hour ago the bridge is still not open. First hand account, my client has a car carrier trying to enter the US and reports as of 9:15 AM the bridge is still closed to enter the US from Canada.

It wasn’t that long ago Pierre Trudeau declared martial law and brought the military into Montreal during the October crisis. I doubt if his son Justin would go this far. People wanted military intervention against the trucker protests in Ottawa.

How many more people do you think will be fully vaccinated in the DR which is at 53.2% The US which is at 63.9% ? Even Canada which is at 80%?
I doubt many more people will be taking action in the DR as the mandates start to disappear. Remember that fully vaccinated goal of 70% in the DR?
Where is that now? Gone forever, that is where it is...

Fully vaxed, as we now understand, no longer works with even those numbers because of the rapid drop in efficacy of all vaccines.
If you were "fully vaxed" 6 months ago, you probably have little resistance left to infection.

Note: All the bad mouthing of my birth country by the do gooders and more are a fully vaccinated than in the DR.

Personally it makes NO difference to me how many people are vaccinated. I go by math that comes from hospitals around the World. It tells me that unvaccinated are somewhere dying at about 15 TIMES the Vaxed. That is good enough reason for me to take the vaccine.
