President William Ruto received the red carpet treatment in Washington, D. C. during his visit with US President Joe Biden. But it looks like the US is so far only making available US$60 million for the multi-nation effort to back the National Police in Haiti in its war against the gangs that are in control. The US Congress is divided over providing more funding. Right now it seems the gangs may be the leading employer in Haiti.

Meanwhile, in Haiti, the gangs recently made it clear they are in charge. With days for the announced entry of the UN mission troops, the gangs murdered the daughter and son-in-law of a US congressman, Missouri representative Ben Baker.
