Topless Sunbather......
What really ticks dominicans off is when a dominican girl goes topless. This is very rare occurence but I remember a case where a old german guy asked his cuero (semi hooker) girlfriend to take off her top in a swimming pool area. Now remember folks, this was a place where dominicans from santiago also go for vacations on weekends. This german fellow was renting there as well and decided to take his hooker girlfriend to a family pool areal. When the girl took off her top the women next to her with 2 kids screamed at her and demanded that she put on her bikini top. Accused her of acting like foreigners and called her a whore. She made such a big scene that both the old guy and the cuero went away running.
I just sat there in total shock, watching all this right before my eyes.

what a fuss about a few extra inches of flesh.....lets face it a bikini doesnt really cover that much in some cases....can I suggest you all avoid a holiday in gran canaria where practically everyone is naked lol
Yeah what a big fuss about this, when my kids were small and we would go to Puerto Plata they saw plenty of that, they whispered about it but that was it, they went on their merry way.............of course i agree it should be done where its allowed not onthe public beaches.

I have seen Dominican women covering their kids' eyes!.....ANNND even stopping on their tracks, when they see a topless woman, and turning back and NOT passing by her!.
Why in hell do they have to do that in their own country?....I gather that if they wanted their kids to see "puppies" hanging all over the place, they would had gone to a place where it was allowed!.
Btw: My Argentinian sister-in-law sees no problem with this issue.....But she sure did adapted to my brother's "Dominicanism"!!.
You are absolutely right.....Since it's NOT a norm for a Dominican to go topless, it really irritates Dominican females when other Dominicans do it.....And true, MOST do it when told by her sugar daddies/johns/pendejos.

when my little niece and nephew came to dominican republic many years ago, they were very young. We went to sosua beach to spend a day swimming. We chose a spot where we didn't have to see any nakedness. Then to my misfortune, while we were at the beach swimming and having fun, a lady come near us, laid down her beach towel and then took off her bikini top and laid down to take the sun, right before the eyes of the kids. our beach chairs were not far from her. I could see the kids were stunned to see a woman naked like this in public. they just couldn't get over it. I was not very comfortable with this at all. So after a few more minutes, we decided to just leave. later when the kids went back to atlanta, they told everyone that people swim naked in DR. I got into trouble with my mom for taking kids to such an indecent place. 
Now the boy is coming back and he is 16yrs old. Damn he is already taller than i am. Lets see if he will see things differently now. Hahaha

We have talked about DR and how well known it is for it's sex tourism,promiscuous behaviors' etc etc..Money can buy anything in DR, except for Class of course, DR is definitely NOTHING like girls gone wild in Cancun Mexico or even remotely close to the Florida beaches...
so guess I have answered my own question, the woman in DR have morals and class and perhaps see nudity being exposed to their children sinful and degrading possibly corrupting their purity.
Not to mention it is totally disrespectful

I used to walk the beach at Juan Dolio every sunday. I often saw Europeon women with out tops on at least every other weekend, usually only one, I think it is part of there culture and they dont care. I have also seen the men you talk about in teeny speedo's which I thought was a really outdated style! I havent however ever saw a Dominicana women at the beach with out her top. Just my two cents.
I did see a Dominican woman topless on the beach, she had two of the most beautiful kids i have even seen (both girls).

Trust me, after living here for so many years, I have come to conclusion that germans don't really marry church going dominicanas. Why do you think bachata music is so popular in germany? have you ever seen dominicans in discos in germany? I guess you probably are guessing what I am talking about.
My friend, a decent dominicana, went to germany to spend time with her sister and to study. She was a dentist in santiago. She is not black black but fair complexion and looks very classy but innocent in many ways. When she would introduce herself to people in germany as a dominican, guess what were their reaction? "Noooo, you can't be a dominican....dominican girls don't look like you...". Then she was introduced to some dominican wives and girlfriends of germans there in a disco. Yikexxxxxx, she told me that everyone of the girls there was hooker looking. The poor girl go so embarrassed that she never went back to the same place again. Hahahahaha.
So I am not surprised to see that particular dominican woman taking off her top in public.

My take on this, is that the husband had something to do with her going topless.
I don't know what the motive would have been, but I can tell you that after 17 years of living here, I have yet to see a Dominicana go topless on a public beach.
That's insane that a husband or boyfriend can have so much influence on you to expose yourself in public. I just don't believe that a man would even suggest "going topless"to expose her bare self, why would a man insist on this? What pleasure would he get out of this? How would this benefit him? is he trying to show he has a trophie wife??? or...is he being macho or a chauvinist?

i would say its the parents reaction to nudity that makes a child feel uncomfortable.....i never saw any nudity when i was a child and was mortified to find i had to take my clothes off to get changed for swimming lessons...so a bit of healthy nudity is all a good learning process in my opinion....i used to hide in the toilet when possible to get changed
I am just guessing, but considering that I have never never seen a Dominicana go topless on a beach, it's the conclusion that I draw.
Maybe you're right, and the guy wanted to show off his trophy.
Or maybe he hates his parents and wants to freak them out so that they will go home and stop mooching off of him.
Who knows?
But it is highly unusual that she would have gone topless and one can only guess what exterior influence made her do it.
