The reason why la Romana figures are down and will probably stay that way is the fact that the beautiful Coral Highway now runs directly from the Punta Cana Airport to the la Romana and the Bayahibe turnoffs and it is less than an hour to both . There are daily AA flights from LRM and jetBlue flights two or three times a week , some charter flights to Italy and many private flights ,but that is about it . Will always just be a small airport .

LRM got few extra flighs when PUJ was too busy, but now PUJ is bigger and they went back to PUJ.

They still have the PHL-SDQ flight, we're on it in December. About two weeks ago, they sent us an update with a new flight number and it's now an AA flight, #0842

Do you know a cheap flight routing for Puerta Vallarta to POP return? Good friend spends 8 months in PV but
Mexican law limits his stay to 6 months per visit. He want to come to POP for a few weeks then return for
another two months. Leaving from Mexico City is also an option. Anything direct to Santiago or Santo Domingo
from Mexico? Best he can do now is about $1200 return. Has to leave PV first week of February.

Nope. When I was in Cancun there were several dominicans there working in the resorts. They fly through Panama City PTY to SDQ.

We've been on cruises and try to avoid any spending onshore, maybe a drink in order to sit by the water. I would be much happier to see people stay in rentals and visit the local restaurants.

Thanks for the info. Saw flights ranging from $393 to $854. Good arrival and departure times as well. COPA and
Avianca have the best prices.
