Well....how do I explain this...the term is reffered towards women. For example, I could say that my girlfriend is 'mi jeva'(my woman) it's just a slang for the word woman. Have you ever heard of the term 'Shorty' that's used here in the U.S for girls? Well, it's kind of like that. Hope this helps.

This is another translation:
A "jevito" is a cool dude. A jevita would be the female counterpart. When you say a jeva or jevo it means your partner your lover or girl/boyfriend. The diminutive takes on another meaning and it refers to the person being "in" "with it" "cool" As you can see the terms I use might be outdated because these were the terms my 70's generation used.

Actually, Jevo comes from the English "heavy" a literal translation of the Dominican slang "Pesao" meaning slick or cool.
Or literally "Jevita" is a cool little girl.
I have discussed many slang terms with Dominicans such as
"Pariguayo" which comes, once again from the English
"party watcher" when the Americans occupied the DR in the 60's
people were assigned to oversee festivities and were not allowed to participate. Standing there watching every one else dancing,
they looked kind of stupid. Hence, " No seas pariguayo, sacala
a bailar."
Another good one is "Guachiman"- security guard or "Watchman"
I love this kind of stuff

'Una Compatriota' is "having a cow" (translate that into some thing that makes sense in DR Spanish) as I ask her about some of these 'skewed' translations. LOL
Something about "Los gringos no comprendo. . . ."
As translated by 'CGS':
"Jeva" = a well endowed lady that has the "looks" to turn heads. . .
"pesao" = as in "pesao sangru", a person lacking any sense of humor. . .
