Transport from Cabarete back to Sosua

Hello all!

Thanks to all for all the useful info posted btw, most useful!

I am returning to Sosua to hang for a few days, staying at Rockys for a few. I have hanged and partied in town before and plan on doing so again but I never really partied in Cabarete and would like to do so in this trip.

My question has to do with transport: if one were to stay in Cabarete until 1 or 2 am, how do you get back? Is there any guaguas at that time, or taxi colectivos?

I rather not take a private cab as I remember someone once telling me it cost them $20.

find a good driver to take you and come back and pick you up. i'm sure people on here can tell you about some very good drivers.....

The guaguas stop at dusk, but the public cars go on to all hours, but less and less frequent, as it gets late.
There are still some at that hour, but you have to wait longer, and you are correct, that an actual taxi would want 20 bucks for the trip.
Public cars at that hour should be approx. 50 pesos. as they charge more at night.

AS Rocky said, there are public cars all night. The hotels all have employees that start or end their shift in the night and these cars provide transport for most of them.

You can also find taxis 'til at least 3 a.m. in center of town near Onno's.
You can find taxis at the casino until 4, 5, 6 a.m. when the disco is open that late.

Only exception might be a very rainy/slow night where the taxis simply give up for the night.
