Trees on Sosua Beach

I would suspect that the trees also provide stabilization for the beach to ensure the sand stays. Was reading an earlier thread about Kite Beach's disappearing act. If I'm not mistaken there are no trees along that part of the shoreline. The ocean shoreline is ever changing but much more so in areas that don't have some sort of stabilizing factor.

That area is too elevated to be bothered by waves from the bay. It would take a tsunami to do any damage.

If they ever decide to actually go forward and develop the beach and the hill, nobody will give that a second thought. I just hope I'm there when the dozers come.

Agree with all of the above and . . . the trees help to stop erosion from the heavy rains. Muy importante.

It's true, money and greed will trump all else....many are happy seeing condos on beaches.
