Any news on the tropical depression expected to pass south of Puerto Rico and then possibly affect the DR? Thanks!

Hipolito is going to make a decree and prohibit any cyclons to cross Dominican territory.

We'll be getting a lot of tropical depressions and tropical waves for next few months. Most never amount to anything. Nothing to be concerned about is forecast for present time. If you read some Spanish, a good website to check is by John Touhy, Puerto Rico's leading weather man. I check it daily this time of year.

That will be a useful service, IF IT IS ALWAYS UPTODATE. Do you have the manpower to do that round the clock?

What the DR1 Storm Wage Page does is point those interested in monitoring the storm to international weather service reports they can follow 24 hors a day.

During Hurricane Georges in 1998 DR1 probably was one of the only news services in the DR providing frequent updates almost continuously through the message board. In subsequent years we have done the same, following storms with the perspective of the DR in mind. Note that the better weather reports in English focus primarily on whether it will hit Florida or not.

Note that until the point the storm touches Dominican territory, the foreign weather reports are more up to date than TV news reports. They continue to be very important sources for tracking the storm as it develops.
